A few ideas

I find myself constantly searching for new ways to engage our learners, allowing them to experience all that the internet has to offer ..... with confidence, when this develops the fear factor disappears.
A bit like when you get a new mobile phone, once mastered you keep going forward trying all the hidden extras.
The world wide web as we know it is constantly changing, exposing us to many forms of information and in particular social networking .
The most common conversations I have is around Facebook,so I have chosen to focus on this for the moment.
We have been running classes to educate members of our community about Social Networking sites
  • the pros & cons
  • security & settings
  • functions within the sites
From my organizations perspective Social Media is a wonderful platform to get your message out and its free !!!
Having said that there is a time commitment involved and I have discovered it must be a regular commitment for this to work.
The first Facebook page I  set up was a "Like" page. I then went on to create a a Profile page for our organization.
This has sent me down the path of research ,like members of my community  I am also a beginner in the Social networking arena particularly the advertising side of Facebook.
As part of my Eleader role I have decided to
  • participate in Social Media workshops to expand my knowledge
  • look at other "like" pages and make comparisons
  • compare both types of pages , and how they differ
  • privacy around what is best practice for our organization and my community.
I am sure my list will grow as I find further information
